Computer Recycling Special interest Group (CRSIG)
Schools, non-profit organizations, and disadvantaged individuals need computers to provide educational opportunities and to just plain operate. Many of these entities cannot afford to purchase new computer systems. The Chesapeake PC Users Group Computer Refurbishing/Recycling Special Interest Group (CRSIG) has accepted the challenge to help these organizations acquire computers systems to support their missions. We are a non-profit, IRS 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Donation acknowledgments are provided and a tax deduction may be taken as provided for by the IRS. We solicit and accept computer systems and computer components (Pentiums), working or not. Volunteers test and refurbish the computers and restore them to working condition for use by the recipient organizations. We receive support through the generosity of our volunteer workers, donations by individuals, by companies, and by organizations. Workshop and storage space is provided by Windermere Information Technology Systems. You can help by donating your obsolete computer systems or equipment which becomes surplus as you upgrade your business or individual computers. Donations of cash are also needed to cover expenses associated with refurbishing and repair. All funds are used in support of the program. No salaries are paid. All donations are acknowledged and tax deductible. Donations of equipment or cash can be arranged by phone or email. Individuals interested in becoming volunteers in this effort are also encouraged to call or e-mail.
